Orange Shirt Day

September 30th every year, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, originally and still colloquially known as Orange Shirt Day, is a Canadian holiday to recognize the legacy of the Canadian Indian residential school system.

The observance of this holiday is rapidly spreading into the US out of respect for our relatives in Canada and as a demand for similar recognition here.
